Outlive Your Life

Outlive Your Life Chapter 1 & 2 Review Evaluation

Hello, my name is Raegan Holle. I am a world wide book critic who travels around the country evaluating books. I am writing this paper to inform you more about the book Outlive Your Life. I am writing this for my religion 8 class for Mr. Weishaar.

I believe that the overall theme for chapter one is life. Max Lucado says that you should take advantage of your life because it goes by fast and you only get one shot at it. He states that if you aren’t careful, you will look up, and life will have passed you by. He also states on page one that “You’ve been given your life. No one else has your version.”

Although the theme of chapter one is life, the theme of chapter two is called. In this chapter, Max Lucado states that God chooses, calls, of equips anyone and everyone to be a witness and share His name. Max writes, “You hillbillies will be my witnesses. You uneducated and simple folk will be my witnesses” (Lucado 12).

I think that the author is trying to point out to the reader that you only get one life, and you should make the best of it. You should go out and share God’s Word because he called, chose, and equipped you to do so. He made you exactly the way you are, and you shouldn’t change that. Both the author’s main points and the themes talk about life and how you were chosen by God.

The author tries to imply/the author’s goal was to inform the reader that you shouldn’t just let life pass by, but you should take advantage of it and live it. The quote “And who pressed the accelerator?” (Lucado 4) really stood out to me because it shows just how fast life goes by. You are chosen and equipped by God to do his work down here on Earth, so do it before your time on Earth is over!
