In the link above you will find a video that I created! This video was made for my Multimedia Applications class at Lincoln Lutheran High School! This piece is all about the Holle family aerating business! As part of this video, I spent some time interviewing my dad, Kevin Holle, on many aspects of aerating. He spoke on the history of this business, what type of equipment they use, how aeration is completed, and he even addressed a couple benefits of aeration! This video even includes a little bit about the impact that this business has had on our family! Through both old and new photos, videos of tractors and equipment, and a couple of interviews, I was able to create a completed video!
The actual process of filming and editing this video was very enjoyable. When choosing a topic, I knew that I wanted to work on a project that had an impact on my family (or something that my family members would appreciate). So, I decided to chose a topic that reflected this business that has been part of my family for dozens of years. One sunny afternoon, I set out (with the help of my brother and my dad) to film this topic! I spent some time capturing the aerating workshop at my grandpa’s (Larry Holle’s) house, as well as filmed some clips of my dad aerating a strip of grass! I was even to gather some old photos from a couple of albums, as seen in the video above! After filming at my grandpa’s house, I was able to ask Kevin Holle some significant questions regarding this business! Within the past week or two, I have spent some time combining these pieces together for a complete video! I am really happy with the outcome of this video, and it was definitely worth every minute!
