Practical Living – My Favorite Dish

An image of two plates of chocolate cookies with marshmallows.

One of my favorite dishes that my team prepared this semester was the Hot Cocoa Cookies during the Christmas cookies bake-off. Everything went perfect in this lab! Each person was assigned a certain role, and we all performed them to the best of our abilities. We were able to bake and finish the cookies in the perfect amount of time to ensure that each judge could be able to taste test them. In the end, the overall taste of the cookies turned out great, the texture was perfect, and the chewiness of the marshmallow paired well with the soft dough. Within this lab, we were able to learn a lot! When cooking with a marshmallow on top of something like this, it is important to cook the cookies, add the marshmallows, and then put them back in the oven. This will make sure that the marshmallow is soft, but also not too runny. It is important to also make sure that you are always keeping an eye on the oven, because you do not want your food item to burn. Lastly, when making frosting, if you need it to be more runny, don’t be afraid to put it in the microwave. I would rate this dish a 10/10. The texture (the combination of softness and chewiness) was awesome! Also, the flavor was very sweet and chocolate-filled, which I loved! It was very quick and easy to make! For these reasons, I would certainly recommend this recipe!
